Our Story: A Mother's Fight, A Family's Healing

I am a mother who has lived through the unimaginable. My three children and I experienced the devastating effects of domestic violence, a darkness that touched every part of our lives. I fled my first marriage to their father in hopes that the justice system would protect us and learned the harsh realities of "he said, she said". Through almost two decades of court battles, police reports and child protective services being involved--my children's voices were heard. For too long, I felt trapped, unsure of how to escape the cycle of fear and pain that controlled our lives. My children were young when it began but felt the weight of it all, and it hurt to see them so scared, confused, and powerless.

I found myself in another abusive relationship years later that left me fighting for my life and realizing that the abusive cycles had to end with me. In the midst of the pain, I discovered a profound strength — the strength that comes from seeking God in the darkness. I realized I had to protect my children at all costs, even if it meant walking away from everything I had worked so hard for and finally dealing with the issues that kept leading me to unhealthy relationships. Though the road to safety and healing was long, the Lord walked with me every step of the way. We found a new beginning, one where we could rebuild our lives and heal.

While I am a mother, I know that men can also be victims of domestic violence, and their stories are often overlooked. Abuse knows no gender, and I’ve seen firsthand how it can destroy the lives of men just as much as it does women. Whether it's physical, emotional, sexual, or psychological abuse, the effects can be devastating for anyone, regardless of their gender. The need for support, safety, and healing is universal and the Lord wants to be that safe haven for you too.

Through the hardships we faced, I found hope and healing through my faith in God. It was God who gave me the courage to leave, the strength to fight for my children, and the peace to know that we would overcome. His love has been the anchor in our lives, and it is through His grace that I found the healing we so desperately needed.

This nonprofit was born from my story, but it’s about more than just one family. It’s about ensuring that no mother, no child, no man, has to suffer in silence. It’s about providing resources, support, and a safe space for anyone who has been touched by domestic violence. It’s about helping others find healing, not only through practical support, but through the peace that comes from faith.

Our mission is to help individuals and families heal from the trauma of abuse and to provide a path forward. We are here to show that no matter the pain, no matter how deep the scars, there is hope in God, and there is a future filled with love, safety, and peace.
